Heading to College? Apply for Worcester Credit Union's 2025 John F. Simoncini Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that our John F. Simoncini College Scholarship Program will be awarding $1,000 college scholarships to four (4) students this year.

Deadline: Completed applications and accompanying materials must be received by Worcester Credit Union no later than May 31, 2025. Applications should be mailed or hand-delivered to:

Eligibility
1. Eligibility is limited to high school seniors, students with a GED certificate, and students presently enrolled in undergraduate programs during the 2024-25 academic year.
2. The student or their parent/guardian must be a member of Worcester Credit Union in good standing.
3. Each applicant must complete this scholarship application form and submit it with the other required materials to Worcester Credit Union by the Deadline.
Your Submission Packet Must Include:
1. Scholarship Application
2. High School Transcript of grades
3. Typewritten essay (see below)
*We may ask for additional documentation to verify information on your application.
The Essay: The essay must be written solely by the student applicant. Any essays identified as AI generated or the result of plagiarism will disqualify the applicant. The essay should be no longer than 1,000 words.
Essay Topic: Write your own future obituary that highlights the accomplishments you have made so far in life as well as the accomplishments you hope to one day achieve.
Tip: Coming up with a résumé for your future self could be a good starting point and help you outline your essay. Also don’t forget to mention your college degree!
Criteria For Awarding Scholarships: Recipients will be selected on or before June 30, 2025 by a panel comprised of Worcester Credit Union Directors and management. Applications will be primarily evaluated based on academic prowess, financial need, community involvement, and the essay.
